The International Safety Management Code (ISM) requires records of maintenance activities planned and carried out on board ships. For such
maintenance tasks you can purchase maintenance software with powerful functions from well known Manufacturers. But for Shipping Companies
owning or managing a limited number of small vessels only, such programs are often to voluminous or expensive.
Furthermore many other ISM related records like Non-Conformity Reports, Training Reports, Master's Review and so on shall be maintained. In
consequence an extensive form system, in addition to the Maintenance System, is necessary to fulfil all report requirements. In this connection
Marsig can resort to a big pool of form templates which apply to all areas of shipping.
Marsig has developed a simple form and maintenance system which is based on Microsoft's® Excel. This program as a part of Microsoft's®
Office Suite is available on board nearly all ships. All required or wished forms and maintenance jobs can be integrated into one Excel file.
This form system is proven by different shipping companies in the meantime.
Trial excel files including forms and maintenance solutions for engine and deck department of small vessels are available for free download as follows.
We would appreciate your response and comments.
MS Excel ISM Form System - Deck Department (zip file, 235 kB)
MS Excel ISM Form System Engine Department (MAK Engines) (zip file, 427 kB)
MS Excel ISM Form System Engine Department (MAN Engines) (zip file, 290 kB)

- no additional software necessary
- useable as form and maintenance system
- easy handling
- MARSIG prepares and integrates all company forms for Excel use
- Excel trained company employees are able to maintain the Excel file by themselves
- Direct link to each integrated Form from an master screen
- both printable and paper-less handling of forms possible
- small filesize of about 1 MB of the zipped excel file including all forms
- simply form analysis at company office by using key words
- integration of maintenance forms
- input of running hours
- input of maintenance tasks and job descriptions
- calculation of due dates
All forms delivered to the company office should be analysed by responsible or designated persons. In case the company manages a couple of ships
a lot of forms have to be checked every month.
By using the paperless MARSIG Excel Form System the company is able to obtain all regular forms inside one excel file electronically.
These Excel files can be searched by a little software tool, which is looking for pre-defined signs agreed on all vessels. If any deviations or
incidents occur the responsible person for filling-in the forms on board marks his important comments by this pre-defined signs. Now the company
office is able to find any special remarks from board quickly without reading all forms.

Such working sheets are available for different groups of machinery.
This working sheet covers all maintenance jobs of all machineries and other devices. But unlike the other sheets here you can sort
